There is something unique that Nico did not mention about Section 230.

It is unique to social media that does not apply to newspapers and broadcasters nor to public bulletin boards.

Section 230 shields social media companies from libel and defamation liability (a protection newspapers and broadcasters don’t have) while also giving them a right to edit content (a right public bulletin boards don’t enjoy without losing their shield from libel and defamation)

Social media companies enjoy “special protections” No other media publisher category does.
